Work-In-Progress Screenings
Part of our process involves hearing from the participants, advisors, and community members about the progress we are making with the film and the issues that are at stake. These work-in-progress screenings are everything from one-person viewing stations passed around at one of our yearly events to organized audiences with panel discussions. Check our blog for the next scheduled screening or sign up for our newsletter to be notified of our events quarterly.

We are always looking for ways to continue collaboration with community partners. If you would like to host a work-in-progress screening of My Garbage, My Neighborhood please email garbagefilm@gmail.com.

PSA
Ed Dunn, director of the Haight Ashbury Recycling Center and Native Plant nursery came with the idea of making a video to show city leaders what a diverse group of people use the center on any given day. Shot on November 21, 2009, the PSA chronicles the list of things people recycled at the HANC recycling center that day. The video was a hit and we made a shortened professional version that can be seen at the Red Vic Movie House before their feature films. This was part of a community effort on the part of My Garbage, My Neighborhood, HANC recycling center and the Red Vic Movie House. The longer "family cut" can be found on our blog.

Park(ing) Day
Last year we took part in this citywide event sponsored by the Rebar Group. Park(ing) Day is a movement where people pay for metered parking and turn the spaces into a personal park rather than using it as a parking space.

Stay tuned to our blog and sign up for the newsletter for more information on this year's plan. Park(ing) Day is usually held in early Fall. Here is a video of park on Haight Street last year, made by Nick Vivion.

The "Green Triangle Project"
Ongoing video project of the community effort to tear down a cement median and replace it with a Native Plant garden. The median is located at Frederick Street and Arguello Street across from the HANC recycling center.

Indy Expo September 2009
We had a great time showing the first trailer of the film to folks in Golden Gate park at the Indy Arts Expo. Complete with a cardboard viewing booth and sun shade!
